I find it funny how you point out your pretentious style of reviewing back then, and then go on to do the exact same over the top obnoxiously expressive style right now
I was an ODD FUTURE fiend back in the day, I can't believe that was 11 years ago 😲
Everyone had a large group of ignorant immature middle schooler/high school skaters in striped socks and Hawaiian button ups in 2011 and I longed for more at the time
let's argue: you should swear in your videos
Lmao this is still probably the worst album review you've ever done, besides maybe your review of I Let It In And It Took Everything. That one was also cringe as fuck.
I was halfway through college when I first saw this review 🥺
I AM IN LOVE WITH ALL LETTERS!.
why are you bald?
the best teeth in the fucking game, but has something on the teeth
a lot of people say fantano looks like Melon but i don’t see it
You literally look the same
i loved this album when it dropped i was like 17 and apart from songs like she, yonkers and nightmare i havent given the album a full listen until i decided to pick it up on vinyl yesterday... im 26 now.. and I think i love the album just as much partly because of nostalgia but also because i feel like its a gritty representation of angsty youth. I also think the album shows a lot of the uniqueness of tyler and his talent (hindsights 20/20). i see it as a time capsule and i enjoy looking back on it like "wow look at this kid making this vulgar album and spitting out whatever filth he wants as a angsty dramatic middle finger. and look at what he is now a well respected and in my opinion creative genius in some respects." im glad I picked this album up it was a interesting trip down memory lane.
I got effed so many times in the back of my highschool bf's Honda to this album. Good times.
Please react to prettymuch is new song lonely its so good 👌🏾👌🏾🔥😍😍😁
lore Pog
Can't believe Cal is 10 years old now, seeing him as a baby feels weird.
Why doesn't Fantano age?
House of Balloons needs this.
I'm in the minority but Goblin is still my favorite album from Tyler. My highlights are Yonkers, Transylvania, Nightmare, Sandwitches, Radicals and Fish
anthony the audio in this video is horrifically desynced
i also dislike the amount of melon. one too many melon melonthany. one to many anthony maloney. we are post anthony, melon. anthony is post malone? pog
hello viewer from 2031, reply to this comment to lmk how the review of melon's 10 year review is :D
King Gimon and the Limon Wimon
Fantano at 2x speed is Ben Shapiro don’t @ me
2000-2012 were the best years for music media, and gaming. I was born in 87. I've seen it all and lived thought all the technological advances. Cell phones, computers, gaming, TV, media etc. I think what made the change was SOCIAL MEDIA. 2000-2010 we had a balance of technology and social media. Key word BALANCE. shortly after 2012 . Instargam, Vine and musically started to emerge. Then eventually the behemoth TIKTOK. Now it seems everyone wants there 15 mintues of fame, market is saturated with to many personalities, every one wants to be an artist, and every artist wants to be an actor. Its overwhelming, and overall saturated. Who would of thought most of all I'd be sick of is PEOPLE...
Can't wait to see your reaction to this video 10 years from now
I discovered both this album and your channel in 9th grade around November 2011 and both would be my first exposures to things that have been a frequent part of my life up to today. This was right as I was getting into alternative hip hop and death grips and things like that and I’d always watch your album reviews for them, so your channel has put me on to so much music discovery over the years. it’s crazy to see how much both members of odd future and your channel have grown and remained relevant to each other. My college roommates and I would watch thatistheplan all the time. Every time I hear goblin or watch that review I just think of all the experiences and events I’ve gone to for these artists over the past 10 years and how this review was from the very beginning of what I would be following closely up to now at 24. I even got to see death grips at camp flog gnaw in 2016 and a part of me expected to see you in the pit lol
Fantano has gotten better at talking to a camera
The melon lowkey got more attractive with time.
Anthony, you can’t scream “GOBLIN GOBLIN, CAL CHUCHESTA IS A MOBLIN” for 21 minutes and call it a reaction.
Would be dope get a look at some '70s-80s Italopop bangers. 🥸
Fantano is the band kid that made it
Oh. I thought it had something to do with the italian prog rock band, Goblin.
And Death Grips prefaced their album too - with Charles Mansen
melon looks the same ten years later. its the veganism
even tyler doesn’t like this record that much
this was the first video i saw from him and now were here. life is crazy.
So funny how the "synthesizers that sound like garbage, spewing from the most consumer grade keyboards you can buy at a Walmart" and are "ugly as sin" are exactly what makes the early OF music kinda original and fresh in their roughness
I liked "Bastard" and a lot of Tyler and OF's early stuff, but this album, damn... I agree with Tyler that like 5 tracks out of the 17 or so deserved to be on there. "She" defs a classic tho. Those r&b influences mmMmmmm
I can't believe he rated this higher than Cherry Bomb
We need more tree
YES! we finally get the lore to that obscure sound effect thanks fantano
You know you're getting old when this is a classic. Feels like Tyler just came out a few years ago.
Back then you either saw the vision and heard the potential based on his inspirations or you just hated it or lived in the moment. Tyler is still himself every album is the same it’s him just enhanced. He could literally drop a jazz album with 7 songs now and it’ll slap 🤷🏾♂️
17:37 the entirety of the melon's taste in music
This was the first interview I watched by melon.
"This album is 1 minute and 13 minutes long" The hottest take of them all
He should do this for his born to die and ultraviolence reviews 👁
Oh god, the review that introduced me to the melon - effectively ruining my life. Great
The punk ethos thing really strikes true. I think that's what made Tyler's, and by extension Odd Future's, music so pervasive at the time. It was music made by a bunch of kids for a bunch of kids. It didn't have the big budget producer polish but it also didn't have the corperate sell out ness tied to it. Musically speaking, Tyler has certainly matured and developed his sound but look at his performance at the grammys. He creates what he wants to create and wears his musical heart on his sleeve. They say that the difference between a genius and a normie is that a genius acts on their crazy ideas. Tyler is the perfect embodiment of this sentiment.
there's a classic with 4/10
More videos like this Ant-Man. It’s super interesting to see how your style of speech has changed when you’re talking side-by-side next to an older review.
yonkers is literally such a fire song still. & i wish we could get dr. TC on another album lolol
Yes I do sir! I think I still prefer this to Cherry Bomb. But there's just some great tracks like you mentioned Nightmare which is one of my favorite songs by Tyler ever. I do however think that Igor takes these more jealous and self deprecating thoughts and executes them leagues better than Goblin.
How long have you been vegan Anthony? I'm going strong after being vegan for over a year. Should be mandatory!
One of my favorite reactionees on the internet
*_BRING BACK THE TREE_*
Why are you vegan?
I take the same approach to Goblin as I do to Bastard. I take the few decent tracks off there and add them to my playlist and leave the rest of the album to rot.
The album accomplished one great thing: pissing off hipster white women like Sara Quinn.
I laughed out loud when you said I can see why people don't like me
revisit swimming!
I don't even watch you vids but you look so good in that thumbnail. I clicked away when I saw that wasn't the vid
2:08 crisp a picture as this 720p vid, kek
is it swag?
FANTANO WATCHES HIS DAMN REVIEW doesn't disagree with anything he said.
melons hair grows 0.00001 cm per decade
please react to your CFM review
You seem more thoughtful today and less forced.
You've learned a lot about white balance since then.
Some call me... Peanut Arbuckle.
your best reviews were in the weird living room area with a big green screen sign. Take a look at his channel orange review for that one
4:24 immediately makes sure his teeth are clean
This is the review i discovered death grips lmao
now you should do that with salem review
Melons don’t age after 10 years
Oh look a director's cut
You're a few months of before it's acktually a full 10 years
My Odd Future high school phase was nice and I still love Tyler’s music but not gonna lie, besides the few songs I know 100% i like, been afraid to revisit this album for a front to back listen
“This album is 1 minute and 13 minutes long.”
Damn I remember these intros ahahah. It just seems like yesterday, 10 years already. Time's a bitch.
Goblin def was a phase like being a rebel in ur teenage years but the production still knocks
How old is this dude lol
The venomous sword increasingly protect because tortoise synthetically suffer among a protective ramie. orange, peaceful grape
10 years later and fantano is in 720p still
React to your infamous Swimming review.
jasper the best OF rapper period
my whole life is changed now that i know where that intro sound comes from
'Things were a lot more B E I G E back in the day' - Couldn't agree more.
I actually really enjoy Goblin, the ending track on the vinyl "Golden" gives me chills with the final lines. Although I do understand why people dislike it and find it to be too vulgar and offensive I still think it holds up. I put it on every now and again, but like many albums have to be in the right mood for it.
where is cal chuchesta
Maybe too soon, but Cherrybomb would be a good revisit, as it was the preface to Flower Boy and Igor.
Imagine not liking “she”
crazy to think I found your channel 8 years ago now when you ripped Because the Internet a new one lmao
LETS ARGUE: You were right in your old album reviews to not overly focus on production quality and I kinda wish you were still like that these days.
Fantano and Fluffee
Anthony wants to rub his 2011 smooth self.....
Skip lol
The only thing that has changed is his glasses...
A lot of fuckin glitches in this one
Whatever happened to Hodgy Beats? I heard rumors that he was really struggling with drugs. His mixtape with Alchemist in 2012 is one of my favorite tapes ever. Really it was the only Hodgy project I liked consistently.
